MISSION
The mission of Lajala in year 2026 can be realized through the combined efforts of the residents joined by the convincing and effective support of the Barangay Council, the Local Government Unit, Government Agencies, Non-Government Organizations and the People’s Organizations.
VISION
“By year of 2026 Barangay Lajala is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Municipality of Coron with a prosperous economy, healthy and good citizenry, rich and abundant natural resources and resilient infrastructure led by God-fearing and excellent leadership.”
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
According to historical records and also according to those who know, the name “Lajala” comes from the “AntipoloTrees” which the natives call “LAGALA: Its first name was madness. In the year 1915 the people who first settled in this barangay was the Macao family. It was also established the barangay lajala by the Abella and Gugma families. In 1920 the Bering families came here followed by Aguilar, Apolinario, Salva and Languyod and they settled here.

There are also calamities and disasters suffered by the people of the barangay. In the year 1959 there was typhoon hilda . many crops, houses and boats were damaged which had a great impact on the barangay people. Year 1965 the California Sardines factory burned down which reduced their income, at that time they also had a problem with many claimants, in 1983 there was typhoon Ondang which also caused a lot of damages to them. Year 2013 one super typhoon YOLANDA hit the Barangay, many were damaged and lost their homes, boats, livelihoods tools, many trees and crops fell and some lives are lost because of this many agencies, NGOs and Private Organizations had given their help to barangay lajala to restore the vitality of the barangay. Year 2019 there was a widespread order that worried and shocked everyone the spread of the infectious disease COVID-19 that almost everyone could not leave the house, everyone lost their jobs and experience famine.

Geographical Location
Barangay Lajala is located or situated on the west of the municipality. It is bounded on the north by Malpok Bay, on the east by Coron Bay.
Accessibility
It is accessible by water using riding a motor banca within 15 mins. of travel from town proper.
