Coron is a first-class Municipality in the Province of Palawan. and belongs to the three municipalities in Calamianes Group of Islands in the northern-most part of Palawan. Land Area of the Municipality including Coron’s Claim of the Contested Area with Busuanga is computed at 72, 309.53 hectares with Geographic Information System (GIS). Among all the Baragays, Bintuan has the largest land area covering 15, 819 hectares of the municipality; smallest barangay is Poblacion III with only 8.67 hectares.

     Coron is composed of 23 barangays; Seven Urban Barangays and 16 Rural Barangays where five are island Baragays. Based on Coron’s CBMS Census 2015-2016, there are a total of 8075 households, Tagumpay among all the urban barangays have the largest number of households in 2015 having a total of 1742 households, while Guadalupe in the Rural Barangays has the largest number of households (933). The municipal gross density is 0.72 in year 2015. Barangay Poblacion II is most densely populated barangay (96.48 persons/hectare). For all of Palawan, Coron has the largest growth rate from 2010 to 2015, having a growth rate of 3.82 percent.
